Dear Parents,
The Grade 1 and Grade 2 teachers have been reviewing the results from the MAP testing and have identified key areas where our students need the most support in both Math and English. Based on the data, we have selected skills to work on as a class until the end of the school year. Some results show a low mark as a whole group, and this is because we have not yet taught this unit in Math or English. An example of this is Statistics. Once that unit has been taught, the results on the next MAP test should improve. Following is a list of skills that each grade and class are focusing on. These skills were generally weak within the whole group of students and are areas that we are aiming to improve. One main goal all classes are working on are increasing vocabulary, and this will also reflect in the marks of the next MAP test.
