Out of School Uniform

Tomorrow students can come to school is out of school uniform. This is to celebrate Mawled El Nabawy and Revolution Day.

Also some students are interested in buying the school spirit tshirts. It costs 130 LE and the deadline to pay is tomorrow. You can pay in the school and come check out the sizes.

Our Learning

This week we have been learning the following:

Language Arts: We have been working on writing "Personal Narratives" and we have been also developing our reading comprehension skills.

Math: We are learning to tell time and differentiate between different time intervals.

Science: We have started our "Earth Science" unit and this week we have been learning about earthquakes and volcanoes. Your kid can do his/her own volcano and come display it in class. (This is optional).

Social Studies: We have been learning about "Pollution".

Reminder: Please send the supplies as soon as possible and please replace any ripped folders.

Spelling City

Hello Parents,

Starting this trimester we will be using a website to practice our weekly spelling words. This website is called "Spelling City". I will add the words every Sunday and the students will be tested on Sunday the following week. It is a fun and interactive website where students can play games and take quizzes.

1- Go to www.spellingcity.com
2- Press on "Find a List"
3- Enter my name in the search box: Laila AbdelDayem
4- You will find the list with today's date
5- There will be two lists for two groups of students. I will let the students know their groups today.

Supplies

I would like to thank you all for coming to the Parents Meeting. It was a pleasure seeing all of you!

As we start the second trimester there are some supplies that we need from each student:

- 2 Erasers
- 1 Sharpener
- New Folders (If your child's folder are ripped or damaged)

Welcome Back

Hello Parents,

Welcome back and Happy New Year.

Thank you for all the parents that confirmed their attendance for the parents meeting. I am looking forward to seeing you all. The date is Tuesday 15th January 2012.

This week we settled back into our routines and reviewed our learning. There will be no homeowork for the weekend. We will resume the homework next week.
